　　Teaching content: Things I wish I’d known when I was young
　　Teaching aims:
　　1. Get the students to learn some “philosophy of life” with different reading skills.
　　2. Raise students’ awareness of positively facing life and hardships and meanwhile develop their ability of solving problems.
　　3. Enable students to taste the difference between western and Chinese beliefs and encourage students to identify and absorb.
　　4. Learn the importance of cooperating and sharing.
　　Teaching procedure:
　　1. Pre-reading
　　Enjoy a song together with the students. Ask the Ss to understand the lyrics.
　　This song mainly tells the singer is regretting what has been done before. Therefore, this part is aimed to ease the students and bring in the topic of the class as well.
　　2. While-reading
　　①Help the students to get the main idea of the passage by reading the title and the first two paragraphs.
　　The main idea is that we wish we had known things when we were younger so that we could have lived a better life.
　　This step mainly aims at developing Ss’ ability of skimming.
　　② Encourage Ss to predict what will follow.
　　The following is some of the author’s tips shared with readers.
　　This step is designed to train Ss’ skill of predicting in a context.
　　③ Ask Ss to do a careful reading and information sharing.
　　1)Ss will be given 2 to 3 minutes to read the following tips. Ask the Ss to match the tips and explanations.
　　2)Teacher gives some pictures or videos to help Ss understand some difficult tips or ask them to understand and illustrate by applying relevant tips.
